DESIGN> is a free subscription information platform where creativity, innovation, knowledge, technology and business converge. DESIGN>, with its stable of dynamic digital publications, seeks to engage and inspire designers from all disciplines, the design conscious and the design curious throughout Africa and beyond.
Launched in 2005 as a mouthpiece for design in South Africa, DESIGN> MAGAZINE enjoyed four scintillating years as a print publication, becoming a much sought-after magazine, well respected for its design and its editorial content. Then in November 2008 the decision was taken to launch the magazine exclusively online (no printed versions are produced) in a flip-page digital format and to expand its editorial to feature more content from Africa.
DESIGN> MAGAZINE and its multidisciplinary information platform, www.designmagazine.co.za has continued to evolve and its readership has increased exponentially, locally and internationally, in a very short space of time. The DESIGN> Information stable of publications now includes DESIGN> MAGAZINE, DESIGN> IN TECHNOLOGY, DESIGN> LIVING, DESIGN> EDUCATION, DESIGN> ART and Special Project Reports.
The DESIGN> information platform now offers far more than any print medium can with regular updates of PRESSROOM, a vessel for design-related press releases; SHOWCASE, which highlights cutting edge and forward thinking design; and AWARDS, which is an expansive database of local, regional and international competitions and awards schemes. In addition, RESOURCES provides useful links to a diversity of organisations, companies and education institutions; EVENTS provides day-by-day coverage on selective conferences, workshops and other design initiatives; and OPINIONATOR provides a blog space that stimulates active discussion on design-related topics
